Your role and responsibilities

Are you ready to take your passion for traction power electronics to new heights? Whether you're diving into designing powerful traction systems for rolling stock, e-bus, heavy-duty mining vehicles, or complex retrofit projects, this is your chance to make an impact! Bring your enthusiasm and expertise in power electronics and explore a world of exciting opportunities. You'll be working alongside global teams in engineering, R&D, production, and project management, all united in pushing the boundaries of technology. Reporting to the Power Electronics Engineering Manager, you'll be part of a team that champions creativity, collaboration, and inclusivity. Ready for the journey? The work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid You will be mainly accountable for: • Design and optimize traction power electronics converters, energy storage systems (ESS), and auxiliary converters, ensuring seamless integration within vehicles. Your work will align with customer needs, industry standards, and internal specifications. • Lead the specification, execution, documentation, and analysis of Type and Qualification tests to ensure robust system performance, focusing on the integration of traction converters with battery systems for enhanced energy efficiency. • Contribute to the evolution of our traction product families through standardization, and continuous improvements. Leverage your expertise to drive innovation and standardize our products to interface our converters with our battery systems. • Develop a deep understanding of our core components and provide technical leadership to your peers. Optimize design processes and customer solutions independently or by collaborating with cross-functional specialist teams. • Partner with suppliers to define and specify critical components, ensuring technical requirements are met for systems involving power electronics and energy storage integration.

Qualifications for the role

  • An experienced Power Electronics/Electrical Engineer with a strong foundation in power electronics design and engineering, especially in traction converters and/or energy storage systems.
  • An enthusiastic learner who is keen to broaden their knowledge and share insights with the team, promoting a culture of growth and collaboration.
  • A proactive problem-solver who excels in tackling complex challenges and takes responsibility for their tasks, while also being a valuable team player in an inclusive environment.
  • Proficient in clear and effective communication in English, both written and spoken. German language skills are a plus.
  • Willing to travel occasionally to support project needs.
