Responsibilities:
To support the completion of Mechanical Completion, Pre-Commissioning, and Commissioning activities according to the project completion plan and schedule, the candidate will:
- Understand roles, responsibilities, and compliance requirements.
- Familiarize with the project completion execution plan provided by the Discipline Lead Technician.
- Follow the Notification of Energization (NOE) flow chart.
- Interpret system drawings and adhere to walk-down procedures.
- Complete daily reports to ensure clear communication with the Discipline Lead Technician.
- Attend daily toolbox talks to stay informed about daily activities.
- Perform Mechanical Completion activities (A Scope ITRs) in close collaboration with the construction team, following project drawings and specifications.
- Carry out Pre-Commissioning activities (B Scope ITRs) in line with vendor documentation and specifications.
- Support the Operation Test Procedure (OTP) under the supervision of the Discipline Lead Technician.
- Utilize specific tools and test equipment to conduct system commissioning safely and with quality.
- Assist field service vendors during system commissioning.
Education:
- Technical College diploma in Automation, Instrumentation & Control, Electrical disciplines, or equivalent.
Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in construction or commissioning within the Oil & Gas industry, preferably offshore products and systems.
- Familiarity with Completions Tools (ECOM) and documentation.
- Experience with Permit to Work (PTW) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
Discipline Skills:
The candidate should possess knowledge and preferably experience in:
- Control System architectures for DCS, PLC, and Data Acquisition Systems, as well as the installation, termination, and testing of various communication cables (Ethernet, Fibre Optic, Profibus). Experience with Siemens PCS7 DCS is a strong advantage.
- Fault-finding and repair of instrumentation/electronic systems and equipment in control panels and field environments.
- Installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of Integrated Control and Safety Systems, with operational or process knowledge being an advantage.
- Installation of DCS equipment in control rooms, server rooms, LER, and outdoor installations (e.g., outdoor local control panels with Vortex coolers, purging systems).
- Integration of packages in ICSS, testing of Modbus and OPC communications between DCS/ICSS and packages.
- Instrumentation loop checking and support for loop checks from control room HMIs, including graphic synoptic checks, graphic faceplate checks, instrument ranges, alarm, and trip setpoint checks.
- Interpretation of engineering documents, including Instrumentation Datasheets, P&IDs, Cause & Effect Diagrams, and Loop Drawings.
- Testing of Fire & Gas (F&G), Process Shutdown System (PSS) Cause & Effect logic, and Process Control System (PCS) control narratives, with an understanding of Differential Gap Controlling, PID controllers, and cascaded controllers.
- Familiarity with Commissioning Systems concepts and representation using Limits of System Handover documents.
