Overview
The Utility Technician III is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the O.N. Stevens Water Treatment Plant and the operations of the water distribution system.

The Utility Technician III is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the O.N. Stevens Water Treatment Plant and the operations of the water distribution system.
Responsibilities
- Identifies and resolves operating issues at the facilities
- Prioritizing and coordinating staffing needs
- Oversees the analysis and monitoring of the potable water production and treatment
- Oversees the collection, preservation, and storage of samples for lab analysis
- Serves as shift Operator-in-Charge
- Maintains detailed records and logs
- Participates in and implements various program initiatives
- Performs advanced level process control measurement and testing
- Conducts tours of facility as needed
- Leads and participates in troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of facility
- Performs repairs on chemical feed pumps, chemical injection systems to include chlorine feed and delivery equipment
- Serves as team lead on planned repairs
- Performs data entry functions on the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- May be required to work with confidence at heights of over 25 feet
- Performs other related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
- Non-Exempt - Full-Time
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement
- In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Five (5) years of experience
Required
- TCEQ Class C Surface Water License required at time of hire
- A valid Class A CDL is required at time of hire; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas Class A CDL within 90 days of hire
