Vestas have a notable position open for an enthusiastic and high achieving individual to join our team as Senior Director of Service ANZ. This is a unique role where you will help steer our service teams across the region to achieve great goals and build upon an already profitable department.

This a role where you can truly make a difference and use your extensive stakeholder management skills internally and externally to achieve many short and long term wins for Vestas Wind.

The Senior Director of Service is responsible for the regional strategy and service delivery across Australia and New Zealand. He/She maintains an organisation that is fit to meet customer demands and contracted scope of Services in a highly efficient, safe, compliant way while delivering on the internal KPI's and PPI's as well as on committed budgets.

The teams under the service umbrella include all 50+ wind farms across the region, our customer service department and planning and scheduling among others.

The Senior Director of Service is in charge of employees and organisational development, advancing our work methods and safety and quality culture. He/She further supports the Service VP in providing counselling regarding market outlook, risks, and recommendations based on daily business and KPI development.

Key to the success of this role will be to direct and develop Vestas organisation, resources, strategies, agenda, and goals for the ANZ Service Business along with delivering on the business, financial, functional priorities.

Vestas Australia & New Zealand (part of Vestas Asia Pacific) is a responsible for the Sales, Installation and Service of wind farms throughout the country.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise a team of 10 managers and an organisation of up to 800 employees to meet current and future business needs
  • Deliver on financial P&L obligations with revenue in excess of 150M AUD
  • Manage Industrial Relations strategy to anticipate business needs and establish measure to manage accordingly
  • Participate in commercial activities including bid management, contract negotiations, and client disputes
  • Ensure operation KPI targets are achieved for HSE, warranted availability, and employee satisfaction
  • Contribute as an engaged leader in a matrix organisation within both the APAC Service business and local Australia/New Zealand leadership team
  • Organise processes efficiently with a focus on continuous improvement to support Vestas profitability
  • Direct regional initiatives to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost across the Vestas organisation.
  • Advise management about important trends in the industry and ensure to exploit these for the benefits of the Vestas business
  • Ensure internal business transparency and consolidate relevant data for global strategies and goals
  • Direct and supervise relationships and performance measurement feedback procedures
  • Handle project plans and follow up on business performance, conducting regular reviews with stakeholders and executive leadership
  • Be a change agent and secure capability building through engaging with key stakeholders and the implementation of process improvements
  • Secure relevant risk assessments are completed
  • Securing that all cost out opportunities are identified and utilized in the business unit
  • All other responsibilities as assigned


Qualifications

  • Bachelors' degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or other related field or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education. Masters' degree preferred but not essential
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in an established organisation
  • Solve problems by seeking out relevant information and gauge its importance when making decisions
  • Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly
  • Ability to influence across organisational boundaries / with solid focus on working with & understanding different cultures
  • Confident to establish and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Effectively manage direct reports who also have direct reports (leader of leaders)


Competencies

  • Good, proven project and program management skills. Ability to develop, plan, and implement strategic short and long range goals
  • Effective team leadership skills with ability to facilitate a cooperative work environment, motivate, coach, and facilitate employee development and performance
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of business units in a global organisation
  • Proven proficiency in analysis and problem solving
  • Ability to develop and facilitate positive relationships among stakeholders
  • Ability to operate effectively in a significant, ever-growing and results-oriented environment; handle constant change with ease and flexibility
  • Business and financial acumen
