Colorado School of Mines invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Fellow position.
This position will lead work on a high-profile DOE-ARPA-E funded project for porous materials design and structure optimization, focusing on Multiphysics modeling of heterogeneous porous materials.
Candidates should have strong programming skills in Python, particularly with TensorFlow and PyTorch, and know how to use open-source multiphysics packages and have strong expertise in machine learning.
The position will be at Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado. The successful candidate will be offered a one-year full-time Post-Doctoral Fellow position, with the possibility of an extension for another year. The ideal start date will be January 6, 2025.

Annual Rate

*This position may potentially qualify for a hybrid work schedule which can be discussed post-hire depending on research needs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead independent research activities in collaboration with faculty advisor
- Participate in group meetings
- Submit minimum of 2 research papers each year
- Conduct preliminary reviews of student research products: proposals, defense presentations, thesis, technical papers
- Assist graduate students in submitting their work for publication, as appropriate
- Present findings at regional and national conferences
Minimum Qualifications
- PhD in Civil or Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering
- Experience in multiphysics modeling of materials using OpenFOAM
- Proficiency in Python (TensorFlow and PyTorch for ML)
- Proficiency in programming using C++
