JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision this position accomplishes a variety of duties related to the daily operation, maintenance and repair of wastewater and water collection and distribution systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Regular and timely attendance at work
• Repair water and sewer leaks
• Perform sanitary sewer line cleaning with jet machine
• Operate and maintain backhoe, track hoe, dump truck and other equipment
• Maintains lift stations and grinder pumps
• Installs new water service to new homes, from water main tap to meter
• Maintain, repair and install fire hydrants
• Collect water residuals and bacterial samples
• Test, read, maintain, and replace water meters
• Install and maintain sanitary sewer manholes
• Report defective or dangerous equipment or conditions to supervisors
• Performs other related duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Class "C" Water License from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
• Valid Class "C" Texas Driver License
• High School Diploma or GED
• Five years of Utility Operator experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred Class "C" CDL
