Do you like to troubleshoot, repair and work on a variety of components? Do you like it when each day is different than the last and presents a new challenge? If this sounds like you, then you need to apply to become an Offshore Mechanic/Operations Technician with Enbridge!

Here's what you will do:
  • Ensures the proper operation, compliance, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of such station systems that could range from tri-plex pumps, generators, air compressors, electric crane motors, and natural gas or diesel engines to air systems, air dryer systems, fuel systems, cooling systems, gas compression, prime mover, and all other equipment necessary to maintain gas delivery through the offshore platforms.
  • Recognizes and reacts to abnormal conditions associated with duties.
  • Completes paperwork and reports related to station equipment maintenance accurately and completely.
  • Directs, as required, other employees in performance of station equipment maintenance duties.
  • Consistently works in a safe, responsible manner and actively participates in safely related programs.
  • Actively participates as a work group team member and maintains a cooperative work relationship with fellow employees.
  • Performs work in compliance with Company policies/procedures as well as external regulatory bodies, such as Pipeline Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals.
  • Operates and maintains pipeline and pipeline valves
  • Launch pigs at various platforms
  • Take a lead role in permitting work to be completed on the platform by other technicians and contractor hired to perform repairs or maintenance
  • Be responsible for maintaining communication with the gas control center for daily operations and any operational issues.

Who you are:

You have the following education and/or experience:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of directly relevant training and experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding activities in all types of weather conditions.
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends, shift, on call & standby, and travel overnight as required.
  • Prior process or pipeline operating experience
  • Prior experience working on offshore facilities

Desired Qualifications:
  • Possesses the desire to learn and advance, as a Mechanical Technician.
  • Working knowledge of operations used in maintenance and repair of pipelines and operational equipment.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills demonstrated through training, formal education, and/or experience.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Able to work independently with little to no direction.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able to work and contribute to a team environment where inclusiveness, integrity, honestly and openness are valued.
  • Proven ability to drive and perform job safely.
  • Innovative problem solver without compromising SOPs.
  • Willing to assume responsibility and take initiative to resolve issues.

Working Conditions:
  • Will work 12-hour days on a 7&7 schedule reporting to Houma, LA while being stationed offshore
  • Will need to be physically able to climb a lot of stairs daily and will be exposed to heat and cold during the different seasons.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, extended hours, respond to callouts if needed on days off and work holidays (if holidays fall on your schedule).
  • Works daily in an offshore environment and will frequently fly on helicopters
  • Company paid international relocation is not offered for this role.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 40 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
