About the role:
The Expeditor plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of materials and equipment in a timely and cost effective support of the project.
Your day to day duties will include:
• Manage the expediting activities on a day-to-day basis and work with other disciplines and stakeholders to support project requirements
• Participate in regular team meetings and escalate issues where required to ensure timely resolutions
• Coordinate interfaces with project management, planning, quality and engineering teams, ensuring alignment and communication across functions
• Be responsible for coordinating all aspects of desk and field expediting activities, including reporting to project management and the client
• Develop and implement strategies to achieve project milestones, aiming to exceed expectations where possible
• Review and monitor delivery schedules to ensure alignment with project timelines
• Ensure the delivery of contracted goods and vendor data deliverables, coordinating the flow of materials, packages and assemblies through the production process. This role involves close collaboration with vendors on a regular basis to ensure timely delivery
• Handle and monitor more complex packages, identifying delivery improvement opportunities through detailed analysis of supplier project schedules
• Ensure the delivery of goods is planned and executed in accordance with project delivery requirements
• Prepare and present delivery status reports to management and the client, providing accurate and timely updates
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks in the production process, troubleshooting material availability and delivery issues. Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Support the team and other staff members on matters relating to the timely delivery of the project
• Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders regarding the status of orders and production schedules
• Identify process gaps and consult with management to develop mitigation strategies and implement solutions
• Work with vendors to resolve invoicing issues that could delay critical shipments, ensuring prompt resolution to maintain project timelines.
About You:
Our ideal candidate will preferably hold a Certificate in an Engineering Discipline or higher, with at least 5 years of experience in an expediting role within an energy-related project environment. A solid understanding of project schedules would also be highly valued.
