Production Scheduler

Your role and responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Planning and Execution, the Production Planner is primarily responsible for translating customer orders and sales forecasts into a production schedule. Ensuring the accuracy of planning based on the receipt of raw materials while optimizing the use of equipment and labor. You will also assume a specialist role in transactions. Therefore, you will be responsible for the transactional tracking of all material movements, both incoming and outgoing. Validate the accuracy of transactions while ensuring understanding and explanation of usage variances on work orders. You will also need to understand and master the transactional billing process for all shipments made from the factory. • Participate in the transactional process to ensure usage declarations are made on work orders. Analyze and provide explanations for usage variances on work orders. • Participate and contribute with the cycle counting team to identify improvement opportunities to understand and reduce usage variances on work orders. • Master the transactional process related to the receipt of goods to ensure they are correctly received in our system. • Master the transactional billing process for orders to support the shipping department. • For the work cells under your responsibility, develop optimized production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer order priorities, labor availability, and equipment availability. • Quickly react to and integrate new information provided by the sales, customer service, or operations teams and adjust the production plan accordingly. Communicate production issues to the appropriate departments daily. • Complete production reports and manage performance indicators effectively.

Qualifications for the role

  • University or college degree in a relevant field such as operations and logistics management, supply chain management, etc.
  • Excellent customer service skills and strong ability to follow up and meet tight deadlines.
  • Able to demonstrate the following skills: autonomy, rigor, attention to detail, and ease in decision-making.
  • Strong planning and priority management skills to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Adaptability to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Knowledge of SAP, KBM, Excel, Outlook, and Teams software.
  • Bilingualism (French - English). French is required. English is necessary to communicate with clients outside Quebec on a regular basis.
