The Opportunity
As a Welding Quality Control (QC) Inspector, your role will be to ensure that all welding-related quality activities on the project meet client contractual requirements and comply with the company's Integrated Management System (IMS). You will focus on the safety, environmental impacts, and quality assurance of welding work performed ensuring that all welding inspections are carried out on schedule. Key duties include verifying compliance with the Project Quality Plan (PQP), identifying and reporting deviations from engineering specifications, and following up on corrective actions. You will maintain and manage documentation for all welding QA/QC activities, support the construction team and Kent Supervisors, and build strong relationships with stakeholders, including NDT providers and other inspection vendors. Additionally, you will ensure all test and handover documentation is traceable, up-to-date, and participate in meetings as required by the QC Lead.
About you:
Ideally you will have an engineering degree or relevant fabrication trade certificate, along with certifications such as AS1796 Cert 10, WTIA Senior Welding Inspector, or CSWIP 3.1/3.2. Experience in oil and gas or petrochemical refining, a General Construction Induction Card, and certifications in Confined Space Entry and Working Safely at Heights are essential. Key skills include proficiency in inspecting welding processes to various standards (AS1554, AS3992, etc.), strong knowledge of API and ASME welding standards, and an understanding of welding and NDT techniques.
