Summary:
  • We are seeking Manual Machinists with experience in operating Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL) and Horizontal Boring Mills (HBM). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work with precision to produce high-quality components.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate VTL and HBM machines to perform machining operations such as turning, boring, facing, and threading.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications to determine machining requirements.
  • Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Adjust machine controls and change tool settings to keep dimensions within specified tolerances.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
  • Maintain accurate records of production and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to improve machining processes and product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Manual Machinist with specific expertise in VTL and HBM operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong understanding of machining techniques and principles.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in machining is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment.
  • Comfortable standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and heights.
