The Role The Mechanical Commissioning Coordinator will supervise and lead a mechanical commissioning team to a successful and injury-free completion of activities and tasks. Key responsibilities include technical team leadership, planning, and coordination of work within a simultaneous operations environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities:
  • Assist the Commissioning Manager in planning, development, and reporting
  • Develop commissioning and start-up procedures for assigned mechanical/process systems
  • Provide daily, on-site/in-field leadership, coordination, and management of a multi-discipline team of mechanical commissioning leads and technicians
  • Interact with Engineering and Operations teams to develop procedures
  • Ensure preparation and approval of job cards for Pre-Commissioning/Commissioning activities
  • Work with project HSE leadership to develop appropriate Job Safety Analysis (JSA's) for commissioning activities
  • Ensure Technicians work is carried out safely and in accordance with site procedures and PTW system
  • Read, interpret, and work from vendor documentation, project drawings, schematic diagrams, and equipment manuals
  • Identify personnel and equipment resources necessary to perform mechanical commissioning activities
  • Address mechanical commissioning issues and resolve schedule conflicts
  • Manage the completion of walk-downs and Punch Lists of offered systems/sub-systems
  • Attend key mechanical/process equipment factory acceptance tests
  • Requisition parts and supplies and maintain spare parts inventory
  • Manage mechanical vendor support during the commissioning phase
  • Maintain records and prepare regular and special reports on mechanical and process systems
  • Produce and maintain As-built drawings and documentation
  • Assist Operations during start-up, providing technical support throughout start-up, stabilization, and performance testing
  • Provide Turnover Coordinator with required handover documentation ensuring a smooth handover to Operations
  • Analyze work problems and make corrections to facilitate the completion of assignments
  • Read, understand, and follow Permit to Work procedures
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Coordinate activities with other departments and staff
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with direct supervision and other departments


QUALIFICATIONS

Expected:
  • Experience with commissioning and start-up of process and utility systems
  • Expertise in reading and interpreting P&ID's, Piping Isometrics, and Production Flow Diagrams
  • Knowledge of millwright, piping, and workshop practices
  • Familiarity with gas compression and rotating equipment
  • Understanding of process flow equipment, gas and oil pipeline systems
  • Experience with operations and maintenance of production facilities
  • Skills in leak testing (HeN), lube oil flushing, and chemical flushing of production systems
  • Proficiency in report writing and records maintenance
  • Familiarity with Permit to Work System
  • Project management skills including cost, time, and scope management
  • Awareness of occupational hazards, standard safety procedures, and safe work practices
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in onshore Oil & Gas Completion and Commissioning activities in a Lead Technician or Engineer's role, preferably with onshore production facilities
  • Proven supervisory experience in a Commissioning role for mechanical, piping, or rotating equipment
  • Proficient written and oral English language communication skills
