About the Job
The Mechanical and Piping Engineering Co-op will support the engineering team in the design, analysis, and implementation of mechanical and piping systems. This role provides a valuable opportunity for hands-on experience in a professional engineering environment, allowing the co-op student to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world projects. The ideal candidate will be a motivated engineering student with a strong interest in mechanical and piping systems.

This in-person co-op position starts in mid-July 2025 and ends in mid-December 2025.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development of mechanical and piping system designs using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
  • Prepare detailed drawings, schematics, and layouts for mechanical and piping components.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to support various engineering projects, including new installations, upgrades, and maintenance of mechanical and piping systems.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to the development of project plans and schedules.
  • Perform basic engineering calculations and analysis to support design decisions, including stress analysis, fluid dynamics, and thermal analysis.
  • Assist in the selection of materials and components based on project requirements and industry standards.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and manuals.
  • Maintain accurate records of design changes, project progress, and test results.
  • Ensure that all designs and projects comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments and best practices in mechanical and piping engineering.
  • Work closely with other engineering disciplines, such as electrical, civil, and structural engineers, to ensure integrated and cohesive project outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and clients to facilitate project success.


About You

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelors degree program or higher in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong academic performance and a solid understanding of engineering principles
    Exposure to CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical and piping systems, including design, analysis, and materials
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
