Are you ready to take on the role of Lease Operator for our client in Monahans, Texas? As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of gas and oil wells, while also having the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and gain valuable experience in the oil and gas industry.
Role Overview
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety, environmental, and company policies and procedures.
- Well Inspections: Conduct pre-startup safety reviews and participate in incident investigations and HSE audits.
- Vehicle Operation: Safely operate company-provided vehicle and adhere to driving guidelines.
- Equipment Maintenance: Inspect gas and oil wells, tanks, meters, separators, compressors, and piping components for leaks or issues.
- Well Monitoring: Access remote locations to check wells and maintain normal operating levels and pressures.
- Tank Gauging: Gauge tanks for sale or transfer of condensate, crude oil, and water and maintain accurate records.
- Production Optimization: Prioritize and operate wells to meet contractual obligations.
- Equipment Operation: Operate various equipment including compressors, pumps, and artificial lift systems.
- Data Analysis: Gather and analyze data to optimize production and reduce safety and environmental impact.
- Minor Repairs: Perform minor repairs and generate work notifications for equipment maintenance.
- Regulatory Tasks: Execute required regulatory tasks using SAP.
- Ownership of Operations: Take full ownership of daily operations and maintenance of assigned wells.
- On-Call Availability: Be on call and respond to alarms as needed.
- Facility Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and order on lease routes and at facilities.
- Goal Achievement: Contribute to achieving safety, production, and financial goals set by the company.
Skills & Qualifications
- Oil and Gas Knowledge: 0-3 years of experience in oil and gas production practices, equipment, and terminology.
- Independent Worker: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Safety Conscious: Satisfactory safety record and knowledge of safety rules and practices.
- Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with electronic remote well supervision, SCADA, and electric data gathering software.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in utilizing laptop PC and applicable software programs.
- Problem Solver: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues.
- Effective Communicator: Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
- Adaptable: Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions and climb heights up to 24 feet.
Education & Experience
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in oil and gas production or equipment maintenance advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in oil and gas production or related field.
Pay & Benefits
- Pay & Benefits:
- Contract Position: Full-time contract position with a duration of 2+ years.
- Competitive Pay: $28-35 an hour, depending on experience. Green candidates with not a lot of experience may receive $32 an hour.
- Potential for Extension: Possibility of extension or becoming permanent after 24-month assignment.
- Retirement Plan: Option B Plan for 401K with 3% contribution from the company.
- Time Off: Paid holidays and 2 weeks of PTO. 64 hours of sick time provided.
