Wood is currently hiring for a Quality Assurance Lead role to join our team in Qatar. Below are more details about this role
  • Manages or supports the application of quality principles, systems, and measures and the quality management system across a program or project. Focused on improving delivery efficiency customer satisfaction and reducing potential risks and rework whilst complying with Quality policy, and standards and delivering agreed objectives.
  • Ensures compliance with the Wood Business Management System and compliance through a structured assurance program.
  • Supporting measures that ensure predictable delivery and continuous improvement using performance data to make factually based decisions. Engaging and presenting program/project leaders with information and data to enable preventive interventions.
  • This position has a broad scope and typically applies across a single program/project where they may have responsibility for a small quality team or in support of a deployed Quality manager on a larger/complex Program/project. This will be referred to as "Organization" within the context of this Role profile


RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible:
  • Supporting the management of all aspects of Quality across the breadth of their respective organization and the services we provide.
  • Identification and regular engagement with key stakeholders to promote quality management and gather feedback on performance.
  • Support the effective planning and allocation of resources (including people and budgets) enabling the delivery of agreed objectives and deliverables.
  • Implementing the Wood Business Management System (BMS) across their organization ensuring that its application is effective and that compliance with the system is routinely monitored, assessed, and improved as necessary. Facilitate external BMS certification as appropriate.
  • Ensuring consistent and effective implementation of Quality supporting systems across their organization (e.g., NCR, improvement actions, lessons learned, etc).
  • Supporting tenders and proposal activities for their organization
  • Planning and execution of risk-based assurance plans including the escalation of significant findings to program/project leaders.
  • Monitoring and analysis of delivery performance data, regularly reporting themes and trends to senior leaders, and undertaking intervention as required.
  • Ensuring quality support through Supply Chain processes to ensure the right first-time delivery of products and services
  • Gathering and acting upon customer feedback ensuring action is taken to maintain and improve customer satisfaction.

Working relationships
  • Internal: Active engagement with operational and other functional leaders. Contributes as part of the wider Business Quality networks. Provide leadership to the senior quality advisors, quality advisors, inspectors, and associates that they have management accountability for.
  • External: Regular engagement with customers and key suppliers (e.g., MS certification bodies). Working with industry bodies as required. Seeks opportunities to interface with peers in competitor organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree/Diploma in Quality management or related discipline
  • Membership of CQI, ASQ or other country equivalent (desirable)
  • Experience of working in Qatar (desirable)
  • Lead Quality Auditor (ISO 9001:2015) qualification by recognised industry body
  • Minimum of 10+ years previous Quality experience (preferably in relevant industry equivalent)
  • Experience in holding a Corporate Quality Management role (desirable)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and application
  • Experience in Proposal, Pre-FEED, FEED and EPCm project phases.
  • Experience in onshore and offshore projects.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office
  • High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format
  • Analytical, problem solving skills and systematic thinking
