The Electrical and Instrumentation Inspector supports all Construction activities. They are responsible for all inspection activities related to electrical, instrumentation, and controls work to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, code, and client requirements for the project. The I&E Inspector will provide quality assurance that work is performed in a manner that will deliver a safe, reliable, and quality product to our customers. This position will report to the Chief Inspector, Construction Manager, or Project Manager.

Requirements

  • Ensure all electrical and instrumentation activities (i.e., installation, loop checks, completions, and pre-commissioning of the electric works) are carried out in accordance with pertinent rules and regulations, codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Inspect and oversee all electrical installation and testing activities and be proactive in projecting any adverse impact on the scheduling and delay of productivity
  • Verify work is in place according to approved drawings and applicable specifications and codes.
  • Monitor and report all electrical progress and acquire necessary documents and approvals to ensure continued workflow.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems relating to electrical quality control.
  • Ability to interpret, comprehend, and work from approved construction drawings and/or RFI's.
  • Completing and submitting applicable inspection reports that accurately describe the work performed on the project, in a manner such that the areas inspected may subsequently be identified per current standards.
  • Taking proactive approach to safety on the job site.
  • Plan and organize inspection duties in advance.
  • Assure any design changes or material substitutions have the proper client approval before implementation.
  • Keep management aware of any daily problems or anticipated problems with the project.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 plus years of experience in electrical and instrumentation installation in the offshore work environment.
  • Successful candidates will have at least 3 years of experience with all facets of construction, particularly SCADA and electrical infrastructure construction practices, and in-depth knowledge of electrical and instrumentation codes and regulations.
  • Computer and reporting skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Outlook).
