We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician III to join our team in Jal, New Mexico. This is a full-time, 1-year contract position with the potential for extension. As a Mechanical Technician III, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and operating mechanical equipment and machinery for our client in the oil and gas industry.

Role Overview

• Estimate workload and establish completion dates for maintenance work
• Assist mechanical engineers in planning and testing of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery
• Prepare proposals and cost estimates for projects
• Actively participate in the use of on-the-job safety tools
• Review job packs and identify any safety issues before beginning work
• Execute work as planned and record technical history
• Provide feedback on job pack improvements to supervisor
• Request permits and notify supervisor if permit cannot be issued within 30 minutes of requested time

Skills & Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of closely related field experience
• Strong communication skills and ability to clearly describe conditions and recommend solutions
• Team player with willingness to assist others
• Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs
• Experience maintaining Caterpillar 3516 ULB, Caterpillar 3606 A3, 3616 A4, Ariel reciprocating compressor JGT-4, JGC-4, KBZ-6 frame maintenance
• Experience with diaphragm, centrifugal charge pumps, triplex, horizontal pump maintenance
• Experience with Sullair, Atlas Copco rotary screw air compressors
• Experience with vapor recovery unit maintenance and natural gas rotary screw compressors
• Lifting and rigging experience, operation of overhead cranes, operation of crane trucks
• Ability to operate forklift and man lift

Education & Experience

• 15-20+ years of closely related field experience
• Relevant certification(s) or equivalent professional experience
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred
