Job Description
The Job Mission
As a Mechanical Equipment Engineer - Emergency Diesel Generator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and functionality of emergency power systems. You will support the Contract Engineering Lead in managing technical aspects and ensuring contract compliance, with a focus on emergency diesel generators essential for nuclear safety. Key responsibilities include:
Support the Client in contractual relationships with the supplier
Review supplier documents and coordinate reviews for diesel generator projects
Produce comment sheets and discuss with suppliers on technical issues
Manage modifications, open points, and scope gaps on diesel generator contracts
Support resolution of technical issues and non-conformities related to emergency power systems
Write surveillance plans and reports for diesel generator projects
Manage interfaces with all disciplines involved in the contract, including system, electrical, and I&C teams
Liaise with RD and client management teams to ensure manufacturing dates are met
Qualifications
Essential Skills:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Extensive knowledge of moving mechanical equipment, ideally emergency diesel generators, but this can also be rotating equipment (eg, turbines, valves, pumps and turbomachinery) or auxiliary systems (eg, cooling systems, fuel injection systems)
Knowledge of equipment interfaces
Experience using change management and commercial systems
Proven experience in heavy industrial projects, demonstrating the ability to manage complex engineering tasks
Desired Skills:
• Experience working in the nuclear sector would be advantageous, but not essential
• Experience in managing transverse technical and contractual topics
