This requisition is for a mechanical engineer. The position is critical for being able to sustain and advance Honeywell's multi-million tank gauging, marine, flow meters, flow computers business. In particular, the main responsibility of this role is to drive various activities and coordinate/interface between different disciplines.
The primary skill set required is mechanical engineering, with a particular focus on testing. That is, in addition to a general mechanical engineering, this includes the design and construction of test setups, as well as the execution of various system tests and verifications.
On one hand, the mechanical engineer, being part of the technology R&D team, will contribute to the new portfolio development, i.e., NPI support in concept and validation phases, as well as maintaining existing instruments, e.g., more than 60 000 devices deployed worldwide. The maintenance includes CCB, PARs, ECN activities and coordination. Solving obsolescence issues is part of the maintenance as well.
On the other hand, as crucial as the NPI and maintenance support, the mechanical engineer is one of the most important roles in the VE/CE activities in which, e.g., we work on making savings from materials and reducing the cost of our instruments. In this way, we make our instruments more attractive to our customers, keeping our competitors aside and protecting our markets. VE/CE requires a close interaction between technology and sourcing, in which a mechanical engineer is a key.
Because the mechanical engineer works closely with other disciplines, e.g., in addition to R&D and Sourcing: QA, TechDoc, Sales, TAC, Services, AME and Approvals, it is very important that this role is filled in the location that facilitates such close interaction. Therefore, the best location for this requisition is Delft, The Netherlands. Experience so far shows that having a mechanical engineer supporting all the activities located outside The Netherlands brings very limited (if any) contributions. In addition, the ideal candidate is someone who knows the domain and the business well. Ideally, the position is filled internally.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering / Mechatronics.
• 5+ years relevant industrial experience
• Experience in system testing
• Experience in various CAD systems
• English is a must and Dutch a is plus
• This position requires to be office.
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
We will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform crucial job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Please contact us to request accommodation.
