Your role and responsibilities
The ABB Measurement & Analysis plant in Quebec is a world leader in the field of spectroscopy. Our contract engineering service is the largest Canadian supplier of space optical sensors used, among other things, for monitoring greenhouse gas emissions and for global weather forecasting. Our plant is also recognized for its expertise in the development and manufacturing of various products that meet several industrial analysis needs on a daily basis. By joining one of the largest engineering departments in Quebec, you will actively contribute to the activities of a dynamic and stimulating multidisciplinary team. In this position, you will be responsible for the design and updating of ABB product electronic systems for the Measurement and Analysis products of the Process Automation (PA) division, thus ensuring the highest level of quality for our industrial products as well as our space and defense (SDS) products. Reporting to the electronics group supervisor, you will work as an electronics designer within the electrical engineering team (Electronics Group). • Design and develop electronic circuits, including modeling and simulation, both digital and analog. • Select electronic components. • Design cables and harnesses. • Participate in writing design documentation, technical budgets, and test and commissioning documentation. • Participate in the commissioning and testing of electronic boards. • Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews and present the progress of the work at various stages. • Actively participate and collaborate in project planning and estimation tasks. • Participate in the application of safety standards (CE, CSA, ATEX), environmental standards (RoHS, WEEE), and electromagnetic compliance standards (CE, FCC).

Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in electrical engineering with at least 15 years of experience.
- Good analytical skills and understanding of electronic circuits.
- Skilled in prototyping and commissioning of electronic boards.
- Knowledge of the following software is an asset: Altium Designer, Pspice, Matlab.
- Knowledge of the following languages is an asset: C, Python, VHDL.
- Good knowledge of French and English, both spoken and written. French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
