This is a full-time onsite position in Basra, Iraq, with possible travel.

The role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical/Piping Construction Supervisor - Iraq National to join our Iraq Business Unit.

Wood has been awarded an Onshore Project to support an International Client operation by providing Engineering Services plus Project Management, Supply Chain, Construction, Commissioning, EPC Management support both within Iraq and Dubai offices. The Vision of this Contract is to enhance the production by delivering Greenfield and Brownfield modification projects that include new installations as well as a series of modifications to the existing facilities. Team of Engineers and Designers based in Dubai and Basra supports in execution of these projects.

Key Objectives

• Has a broad experience with a lot of different Piping materials and fitting
• Can review and correctly interpret the piping drawings (P&ID,ISO,GA)
• Good experience working with site teams on fit up and welding with approved procedures
• Has some site testing experience with piping NDT ,testing (hydrotest, pneumatic )
• Has worked with flange management procedures
• Have good experience with mechanical installation such as rotating equipment (pumps, compressors),static equipment (tank, vessel ,skids, etc.)
• Equipment lifting experience

Expected:

• HND or home country equivalent:
• Minimum 5-7 years in Oil & Gas Project Construction and Execution
• Middle East experience and knowledge of Arabic culture preferable
• Experience in Brown and Greenfield construction projects
• Applicants MUST have a Basra residency card.
