Your role and responsibilities

We are expanding our team and offering an opportunity for two Mechanical Design Engineers to participate in the creation of a new product family based on novel technology concept for the medium voltage industrial market. You will work as part of a team of highly skilled professionals in the field of power electronics and electrical machines. Idea generation, problem solving and understanding customer needs are essential to go beyond limits of known technology together with the team. We are looking for talented Mechanical Design Engineers with relevant work experience to build an interesting career with us. These positions require presence in Helsinki factory approximately 50% of work time. You will be mainly accountable for: • As a part of the Motor Solutions team, you will contribute with your skills and experience to the project, which works on a completely new power drive system topology. The work includes tasks from the concept idea generation to volume manufacturing related topics • Creating and completing construction designs and testing them • Interpreting relevant standards and specifying the needed tests • Supporting manufacturing and purchasing operations • Communicating with the different stakeholders and contributing to design reviews and in project meetings

Qualifications for the role

• Knowledge of construction design of welded structures
• Understanding of the special requirements electrical components impose to structural designs
• Basics of thermal design
• Familiar with new product development processes and practices
• Experience in 2D/3D design systems such as AutoCAD, NX CAD or Creo CAD
• Know-how of product data management (PDM) systems, such as Teamcenter
• As a person you are collaborative, systematic and analytical
• Good written and spoken communication skills in English, Finnish is considered as an advantage
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Valid working permit in Finland
