Wood is currently recruiting for a Production Excellence Engineer to join its Iraq business unit focusing on providing on-site support, production optimisation, interaction, and reporting for a Major Onshore Brownfield Project in Basra, Iraq on 5 days on 2 days off rotation.

This is a full-time onsite position in Basra, Iraq with travel requirement.

Key Objectives
  • On-Site Support:
  • This role will require significant time spent on-site at the stations supporting field activities.


  • Production Optimization:
  • Liaise closely with all Degassing Stations and Water Injection (WI) facilities to ensure daily production data is updated and correct.
  • Support Degassing Stations and WI to fully understand and correctly allocate any losses.
  • Support preparation of Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), and timely follow up and close out of associated actions.
  • Responsible for integrity and consistency of all production loss data.


  • Interaction
  • Lead weekly WQ1 Stability Meetings
  • Lead weekly production review Meeting


  • Reporting
  • Ensure all production and WI data is updated on a daily basis
  • Responsible for data inputs to Operations Management dashboards
  • Keep Leak Tracker and Production Threats updated


  • Interface
  • Provide clear support and communication with Operations Advisors and Section Heads, and Surface Technical in relation to all Production Excellence activities

Expected:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in oil production operations, wet crude processing, and wells operations.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Fluent in English and Arabic.
    • Computer skills (Excel, Word), PI (Production Information System).
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, along with strong soft skills.
