Your role and responsibilities

As a Material Planner, you will play a key role in securing material availability and improving performance across our global supplier base. Your work directly supports the success of the Planning & Fulfillment Center in Västerås, helping to ensure high delivery precision, optimized inventory levels, and reliable supply to our customers. In this role, you will: • Manage the full demand cycle - from placing purchase orders and monitoring order acknowledgements to ensuring material receipt and invoice payment. • Monitor supplier deliveries to secure material availability and proactively identify, manage, and prevent both short- and long-term shortages. • Communicate and follow up on supplier forecasts. • Strive to optimize inventory levels while maintaining high service levels. • Maintain daily contact with global suppliers and collaborate with colleagues both locally and internationally. • Drive and participate in improvement initiatives and projects. • Live ABB's core values of safety and integrity - taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.

Qualifications for the role

• Degree in Logistics or other relevant work experience is preferable.
• Experience from work with material planning/operational purchasing is meritorious.
• Satisfactory knowledge in the MS Office package, especially Excel.
• SAP experience is meritorious.
• Fluent written and spoken Swedish and English.
• You are a structured team player with good learning capability. You are curious and enjoy exploring, developing and improve processes and the way of operating.
• Experience in lean manufacturing
