PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow supervisor instructions to move Wind Tower sections, set up and operate flange milling machines, and complete daily build schedules.
- Mill and deburr flanges to specification prior to Quality Inspection.
- Repair all defects as identified and directed by Quality Inspectors.
- Perform most tasks independently; essential tools and equipment are provided, but their care and maintenance are the employee's responsibility.
- Work efficiently and accurately to ensure on-time delivery of products with no manufacturing errors.
- Identify and communicate maintenance or product issues to departmental supervision.
- Comply with all NOV Company and Safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively participate in department safety programs and demonstrate safe work practices.
- Follow all OSHA safety regulations and consistently wear required PPE.
- Support Lean Manufacturing culture and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Graduation from an accredited trade school preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations using both standard U.S. and metric measurements.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, manufacturing drawings, and work instructions.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and precision.
- Ability to interpret instructions delivered verbally, via diagrams, or through written documentation.
- Strong understanding of shop safety practices and quality standards.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively.
- Willing to comply with all safety guidelines and policies.
- Adaptable and open to cross-training.
- Able to multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, push/pull, and perform repetitive movements for up to 12 hours daily.
