The role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Painting Inspector to join our Iraq Business Unit.

This Project aims to take over the existing asset and maximize the production in 2 phases. This is a fast-track project and schedule-oriented Design to enhance the production.
The Phase 1 will restore, upgrade, and develop the current plant (CPF1) including: Restoration of initial CPF1 capacity; building a new export pipeline (24", ~30km); restoration of CPF1 integrity and operability; flaring elimination and released water; development of new flowlines, pads, and electrification network for approximately 30 new wells; debottlenecking of the plant; upgrade of the Safety and Security facilities.
Our scope is to provide Engineering, Procurement services and Construction assistance (EPsCa) for the initial development phase of the field in Southern Iraq. The scope of services includes FEED, detailed design, procurement support, and construction and commissioning assistance.

Main Functions:
- Reporting to the Quality Control and Surveillance Supervisor, to ensure the highest standards of painting and coating quality application and compliance on construction projects, safeguarding the integrity and safety of painted pipelines, piping, and all applicable systems. PCI verifies that the painting and coating cycles have been correctly performed according to painting and coating specifications, and inspection test plan.
Context and Environment:
- The Phase 1 will restore, upgrade, and develop the current plant (CPF1) including: Restoration of initial CPF1 capacity; building a new export pipeline (24", ~30km); restoration of CPF1 integrity and operability (dated 2008); flaring reduction by Q1/Q2 2026 and released water; development of new flowlines, pads, and electrification network for approximately 30 new wells; debottlenecking of the plant; upgrade of the Safety and Security facilities.
Main accountabilities:
Health, Safety and Environment Activities:
- Support and enforce project guidelines and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) objectives.
- Participate in Job Safety Analysis, make suggestions, stop dangerous situations, and report anomalies, accidents, and incidents
- Attend HSE meetings and training when necessary
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Understanding and applying relevant codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Reviewing and ensuring compliance with various documents and certificates related to the project.
- Conducting routine quality surveillance to ensure compliance with project quality requirements.
- Monitoring material receiving, storage, and preservation.
- Observing and verifying painting, coating, and insulation activities.
- Ensuring inspection tools and equipment compliance.
- Supporting quality activities during platform fabrication and installation.
- Contributing to team performance and oversight of painting/coating applicator activities.
- Assuring adherence to project quality requirements by the painting/coating applicator.
- Documenting test and inspection reports in a progressive manner.
- Participating in meetings with the painting/coating applicator to monitor progress and resolve issues.
- Assisting in related audits to ensure technical integrity.
- Collaborating with the Contractor and the painting/coating applicator to resolve quality and inspection issues.
- Timely reporting of technical issues that may affect painting/coating quality, potentially leading to project delays or stoppages.
- Daily reporting of progress, inspection results, and concerns to the COMPANY Site Representative or designated personnel.
- Immediate reporting of non-conformances and ensuring implementation and closure of corrective actions.
- Reporting any deviations in coating, painting, and insulation performance or quality.
- Assisting COMPANY personnel in project quality matters and additional tasks.
- Proactively promoting quality awareness among project personnel.
- Providing feedback and lessons learned for project quality improvement.
- Participating in SSHE activities to promote project SSHE requirements and KPIs.
- Cultivating smooth working relations with contractors, COMPANY Project Team, Operations, and Asset representatives, as necessary.
- Progressive review of QA/QC reports, dossier, and final documentation for compliance with project requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Expected:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a similar role with expertise in external and internal surface preparation, protective coating techniques, pipeline coating, and insulation installation.
- Proven track record of success in ensuring quality and code compliance on complex construction projects.
- Strong understanding and application of relevant welding codes and standards
- Qualification to NACE Coating Inspector Program (CIP) level 2 or equivalent recognized international organization such as BGAS, SSPC, or FROSIO.
- Good command of English
