Job Description:

Join bp as Quality Assurance and Midstream Supply Operations Specialist West Med!

About role itself:

Ensure the delivery of a legal, safe and fit for purpose product to the customers (aligning with BP, country, regional or industry product quality specifications and regulations) applying a culture of continuous improvement and Quality assurance processes and procedures.

Implementation and operation of AFT quality policies and standards to ensure effective Quality control throughout the Iberian envelope.

Handle collaborate with the refineries, AFT, M&C/B2B and other business channels to promote quality assurance. The role act as SPA of quality assurance within the West Med envelope. The role also ensures the technical capability of the supply operations team to deliver supply footprint related logistics projects and aides the management of the technical aspects of the supply operations agenda.

Key accountabilities:

  • Participate actively in the European quality steering committee as West Med representative.
  • Install and maintain business practices based on AFT standards and standardized process framework to handle fuels product risks and brand exposure.
  • Provide accurate training of ground fuels quality processes based on AFT training.
  • Run new and seasonal product introductions according to AFT standards and MoC process. Follow AFT mentorship in case of asking for a waiver.
  • Act as the key contact for technical complaints, ensuring accurate tracking, analysis, and resolution in collaboration with all customers.
  • Act as product quality ambassador to promote a quality culture similar to HSSE.
  • Represents BP in technical forums in Spain, Portugal and France.
  • Embrace standard methodologies and participate in continuous improvement with other supply envelopes.
  • Prepare quality procedures and practices and provide day-to-day technical advice, in liaison with AFT. This includes procedures for the blending of base grades performance additives, boosters and bios as alternative means to meet final product Specification at different supply points.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation for ground fuels product quality for mandated Programs such as Renewable Fuels Standards.
  • Own the local relationships for national, manufacturing and import specifications in alignment with AFT.
  • Handle relationships with key local team members in alignment with AFT.
  • Support quality audit process and work closely with AFT and Businesses during the retail sites market survey.
  • Select and supervise quality inspectors and quality test where product quality assurance is required.
  • Advise Supply Ops & Supply in relation to quality controls of imports and purchased products/bios in West Med.
  • Collaborate with Supply Ops in the additive management replenishment if product quality assurance is needed and establish guidelines for new fuels generations.
  • Provide technical expertise within the supply operations team and lead on technical aspects of supply operations projects.
  • Act as technical authority and focal point within the Iberian & French supply & logistics organizations, the Castellon refinery, GDH Frontignan Terminal, T&S and external 3rd parties

Education

  • College degree in Engineering: ideally Chemical Engineering. Other science degrees eg. Chemical, Physics, Mathematics... could be also considered.
  • Proficient in English, Spanish and French

Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in a quality related role with experience in refinery laboratory, refinery operations and/or terminal operations
  • High level of technical understanding of oil product installations
  • Good knowledge of Supply, Refining and Marketing
  • Excellent knowledge of oil products and specifications
  • Experience working in international networks
  • Understanding of quality management processes

  • Analysis & Quantitative skills plus Product Quality knowledge

  • Technical engineering and ability to represent BP in external forums andleade its relationship
  • Refinery & supply concepts; understanding of the supply chain
