As a Quality Inspector, you are responsible for preparation and analysis of metallurgical lab samples, conducting evaluation, mechanical testing, reporting findings of various type of coatings and materials for aircraft engine component repair. In additional you are required to support, maintaining and troubleshooting lab equipment if necessary.

GEAESS is our largest site for engine component Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO), responsible for more than 60% of our global repair volume.

Role Overview:

• Comply to Safety, Quality, Delivery , Inventory and Productivity of Metallurgical Lab operation
• Prepare the sample for mechanical testing such as hardness, tensile strength, and other relevant metrics
• Prepare the sample for metallurgical evaluation including sectioning, mounting, polishing, grinding and etching
• Operate and maintain M etallurgical Lab equipment and ensure its calibration validity.
• Adhere to laboratory procedures during performing of metallurg ical lab operation, maintain general laboratory housekeeping (5S)
• Perform incoming inspection of controlled material if required
• Liaise with external laboratory or supplier related to metallurgical service ( Ensure all external metallurgical service quotation, purchase order and certificate be delivered timely )
• Good communication skill and able to w ork with Requestor for metallurgical evaluation and analysis
• Flexible with working timing and Willingly to work in rotating shift & weekend

The Ideal Candidate:

• Knowledge in Aerospace, Material science or Mechanical field with experience in laboratory sample preparation and interpretation of microstructure

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum GCE 'O' level and/or with 3 years of relevant experience. Preferably NITEC/Higher NITEC in Engineering; or Diploma in Engineering Field
• Able to read and understand the manufacturing operation sheets and standard operation procedures in English
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Candidates with no experience are welcome
