Job Description Summary

The CNC Programmer position will partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality teams to create and/or modify CNC programs for multi-axis machine tools, CMMs, and other equipment. The CNC programmer should have experience in the manufacturing of Aerospace hardware, tool selection, fixture design and GD&T.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment. Includes Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
  • Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
  • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years manufacturing experience; All manufacturing experience must be specifically machining, assembly, machine repair or inspection experience) and a minimum of 3 years Manufacturing Experience


Desired Characteristics
  • Aerospace Manufacturing experience
  • Experience in tooling and fixturing design and working with tooling vendors
  • Extensive experience with programming and operating multi axis mill and lathe CNC (and manual) machines.
  • NC programming experience (APT, UG, or other structured systems.)
  • Proficient in shop mathematic i.e. geometry and trigonometry, blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning, and tolerances.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and direction - self-starter.
  • Ability to interface with various levels of management (i.e., Design Engineering and Project) and shop floor workforce.
  • Ability to maintain relationships that facilitate task accomplishment; to cooperate and resolve conflicts; to recognize needs and be sensitive of others.
  • 5+ years of CNC programming experience (including NX).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership in program/project management, including planning, execution, and documentation.
  • Established skills in analyzing and resolving problems, with a focus on driving results.
  • Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn.
  • Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively.
  • Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed.
