Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Production Specialist Excavation supporting the S&TB Carlsbad New Mexico West Production Operations Support Team. The position will be open through September 26th, 2025 at 11.59 pm(MST).

This role will be elegible for a 9/80 work schedule.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
  • Actively support Health, Environment, and Safety processes by accomplishing daily activities within applicable regulations and policies, carrying out duties in an environmentally conscious manner, following safe operating practices as described in the MCBU Safe Practice Manual, maintaining a safe working environment, and being prepared to respond to an environmental or safety event.
  • Rigorous participation in the JSA, BBS, PTW (Permit to Work), and SWA (Stop Work Authority).
  • Responsible in locating lines, site marking, schedule Operations for witnessing prior to work execution.
  • Responsible for overseeing site remediation projects ensuring these are completed in the most cost-effective manner meeting the regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize the KMZ program for line mapping purposes.
  • Work closely with Project leaders (Engineers, Sr. Field specialists, Field Coordinators) to scope work and walk down work locations during planning stages.
  • Prioritize one-call tickets, regular crossing work and facilitate KMZ mapping updates.
  • Support Operations in any divest or acquisition of new assets in order to maintain and provide information on map adjustments.
  • Oversee the one-call process to indicate if a site needs to be "site marked" or "cleared" of any encroachments in the area.
  • Verify "clear tickets" for accuracy.
  • Works collaboratively with Senior Field Specialists, Engineers, and Field Coordinators to optimize/ maintain production for the Operations teams.
  • Assure all work performed adheres to Chevron's Operational Excellence standards and regulatory requirements when conducting an excavation.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years of current operations experience in oil and gas or related petrochemical industries, including experience with regulations and the maintenance and testing requirements associated with related safety devices.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), CMMS, and the ability to understand new software packages.
  • Must live within 50 miles of the work location or be willing to relocate.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays, and overtime based on work activity.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates or bachelor's degree of Applied Science in Petroleum Technology, Process Technology, or related technology.
  • Four plus years of current operations experience in oil and gas or related petrochemical industries, including experience with regulations and the maintenance and testing requirements associated with related safety devices.

Relocation Options:
Relocation may be considered.

International Considerations:
Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
