NES Fircroft urgently require skilled Mechanical Fitters to join a global oilfield services client of ours that is based in Middleton (Manchester) on a permanent basis. This is a full-time permanent opportunity where you will be responsible for the assembly and fitting of pump & mixer equipment for an oil and gas business. Looking for someone with experience in, for example, valves, machinery building, compressors, etc.

This position will work to a rotating 2 shift pattern of 6am - 2pm & 2pm - 10pm with an optional fixed 3rd shift of 10pm - 6pm.

As a Skilled Fitter you will:
  • Work closely with colleagues during build/install to ensure a smooth and efficient build process
  • Ability to conduct production tests to established procedures, and complete accurate test reports 
  • Ensure all components which are being assembled are fit for purpose
  • Operate machines or use hand tools and power tools to secure parts in place.
  • To operate equipment in a safe manner, producing products which conforms to quality specifications
  • Recording work carried out for tracking purposes
You will need:
  • UK right of work 
  • Time-served apprenticeship within a Mechanical Engineering discipline, equivalent to either City and Guilds Level 3, or NVQ Level 3 (essential)
  • Mechanical Fitter experience in e.g. valves, machinery building, compressors etc. however NOT automotive 
  • Experience of PC pumps/waste waster/product assemblies/mechanical seal is desirable but not essential
