Job Summary

Horizontal directional drill operator with experience operating Ditch Witch or Vermeer drills will support the team in the safest manner possible while delivering a high-quality product to our customers.

Responsibilities:
• Operate the horizontal drill efficiently and effectively.
• Assist in mixing mud and potholing utilities.
• Working on communications equipment and projects. May include installing, testing, and repairing structures and equipment.
• Takes direction from crew Foreman ensuring safety and quality standards are met while adhering to project budgets and timeline.
• Review documentation with Foreman to prepare for the build, assemble the necessary materials, and determine the required installation methods.
• Help supervise the tracking of all on-site inventory and materials.
• Perform inspections, inventories, and audits as needed.
• Collect, review, and submit all on-site closeout documentation per the deliverable timelines.
• Assist training crew members on proper safety/quality standards.
• Maintain issued equipment and report deficiencies as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:
• 2+ years' experience operating horizontal drills is a must.
• 2+ years' experience with rock drilling to include either inner rod or air hammer is preferred.
• Knowledge of ground conditions to mix mud daily.
• 2-4 years Telecommunications experience High school diploma, general education degree (G.E.D.), or related trade school education 21 years of age minimum requirement OSHA 10 and First Aid/CPR preferred as well
• CDL is a plus. Competencies/ Skills: • Strong written and verbal communication skills and team player attitude.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment while adhering to the set schedule. • Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions, if working outside.
