As a Trainee machine shop inspector, you will be trained on inspecting Grant Prideco, Tenaris DSTJ, and API rotary shouldered connections to ensure they meet stringent quality standards and specifications. Your role requires precision, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of inspection techniques and tools. You will work closely with machining and quality assurance teams learning how to maintain high standards of product quality and compliance.
Duties & Responsibilities to be trained on:
- Conduct thorough inspections of Grant Prideco, Tenaris DSTJ, and API rotary shouldered connections to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Utilize various inspection tools and equipment, including micrometres, callipers, gauges, and other precision measurement devices.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications to determine inspection criteria.
- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections of machined components.
- Document inspection results accurately, maintaining detailed records of measurements, findings, and any non-conformances.
- Identify and report any defects or deviations from specifications to the Machine Shop Manager and relevant personnel.
- Collaborate with machinists and quality assurance teams to address and resolve quality issues.
- Ensure all inspection equipment is calibrated and maintained in good working order.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inspection processes and overall product quality.
- Ensure all company policies regarding health and safety, quality requirements, and housekeeping are met.
- Comply with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards and report any safety hazards to the HSE representative.
- Perform other inspection-related tasks as instructed by management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (essential).
Skills, Training & Specialist Knowledge:
- Training on using precision measurement tools and inspection equipment.
- Install a strong understanding of inspection techniques and quality control processes.
- Teach you to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Computer literacy, including a good command of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
