Production Our client is seeking a Mechanical Project Lead to work within their facilities located in Watford City, ND (PER DIEM AVAILABLE!) on a 6-month assignment (with the possibility of extension depending on performance).
The Mechanical Project Lead is the designated position with the overall responsibility to ensure successful project delivery. The role functions in varying participation to ensure the quality of IFC engineering documents and is a field-based role with 90% of the time at Construction Sites. The position supports the Capital Projects team reporting to the Bakken Construction Superintendent and is directly responsible for managing the Contractor's execution of Site work activities. This Lead position will oversee site civil, structural, mechanical and site interfaces with operations, D&C, support functions, Coordinators, 3rd Party Off-Take Representatives, Regulatory Agencies and project engineering.

Responsibilities:
- The selected candidate must be a Safety Leader and drive company's SPIRIT values.
- Quality adherence to industry standards, federal and local regulations and company's standards/specifications.
- Sites incident management and reporting.
- Authorized permit writer for execution of all permit activities.
- Civil, structural and mechanical technical installation in accordance with the IFC drawings.
- Contractor and vendor coordination to maximize the overall project installation efficiency.
- Hold contractors accountable to their HSE Management System.
- Mentor crews on proper and all-inclusive hazard identification.
- Interface with Capital Projects, vendors, and operations to ensure aligned communications.
- Verify contractor's forward-looking work scope plan, and Schedule, using defined processes and procedures.
- Support engineering turnover of executable IFC plans by P&ID, constructability and Work Pack reviews.
- Complete all required documentation in the Work Pack ready for project completion/PSSR.
- Support Project Engineering through the development of Redlines and As-Builts.
- Approval of the contractors pre-commissioning ITP/ITRs and leads walkdown with operations.
- Responsible for execution/approval of Project Lead ITP Hold Points.
- Leads site quality assurance/quality control programs and gets help for company's QA as needed.
- Performing initial review of Contractor Variation Requests.
- All pre-commissioning and PSSR sign off for handover to operations to support CSU.
- Daily reporting to personnel, progress, threats, equipment per project on T&M.
- Develop and implement recovery plans to gain back schedule due to delays.
- Generates a weekly report on progress percent complete with aligned contractor look ahead.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects sites and contractors.
- Manages contractor proactive HSE and quality programs onsite.
- Document through project and participate in an after action review/lessons learned for capture in the Best Practices Log.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license.
- 10+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry, or 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry with applicable 4-year bachelor's degree (construction management, applicable engineering, etc.).
- 3+ years management of site construction crews in oil and gas industry.
- Advanced proficiency with P&ID and Isometrics drawings.
- Proficient with Microsoft office suite.
- Capable of lifting 50 pounds and perform work in the elements.
- Proven to actively communicate to protect people and the environment.
Preferred:
- 10+ years of Industrial construction experience.
- 5+ years of project management experience.
- NDE certification, Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), related API certification.
- Former construction trade hands-on experience in an Industrial / Oil & Gas industry.
Work Schedule: 6/10 - Monday to Saturday, 10 hours per day.
