Fluor & Energy Materials, an Orbia business is hiring for a Mechanical HVAC specialist I, based out of Houston, Texas, USA.
Position Overview
We're looking for a hands-on HVAC Specialist who combines technical expertise with practical problem-solving skills. You'll work directly with our engineering team to build, test, and optimize experimental HVAC systems for next-generation refrigerants.

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Construct and modify HVAC systems for R&D testing programs.
- Perform skilled welding and brazing for system assembly.
- Connect and configure electrical components including compressors, fans, and motors.
- Fabricate custom parts and fixtures as needed.
- Assist engineers in setting up and conducting experiments.
- Support sales team with technical customer service requests.
- Maintain strict safety protocols when working with experimental materials.
- Engage with local trade activities and stay current with industry developments.

Required Qualifications
- Trade School certification in HVAC
- Local HVAC certifications
- Demonstrated skills in welding and brazing
- Basic electrical knowledge for connecting DAQ and power equipment
- Understanding of measurement techniques
- English language proficiency
- Willingness to work with mildly hazardous materials (with proper training)
