Production Engineering Manager
Your role and responsibilities
The purpose of the thesis is to design and optimize a production lab in ABB Robotics New factory - an innovation space for exploring and testing new solutions in production, logistics, assembly and automation. Details: • Period: January-June • Number of credits: 30 ECTS/högskolepoäng (hp) • Number of students for this thesis work: 1 • Location: Mostly on site in Västerås The project aims to investigate and identify the techniques and working methods that best support efficient product development and production. We need assistance in identifying critical success factors for establishing a production lab that effectively supports production development. • Which technologies and tools are most effective in supporting production development in a lab environment? • What methods can be used to continuously evaluate and improve the efficiency of a production lab? The thesis will be part of Mälardalen University Automation Research Centre (MARC), enabling a research-based approach to analyze and measure efficiency and improvement potential in the lab environment.

Qualifications for the role
- Engineering student in production- or product development with orientation towards advanced production systems and transition existing systems focusing on increased automation and new manufacturing technologies.
- You are self-driven, structured and analytical.
- Fluent English in speaking and writing, English is the corporate language and used for all documentation.
