Job Title: SHES Lead – Night Shift
Part A: Job Specification
Job Purpose:
Provide leadership, direction, and guidance in Safety, Health, Environment, and Security (SHES) to ensure compliance with all project requirements. Oversee fieldwork and manage a team of SHES specialists, ensuring effective resolution of compliance issues and implementing SHES plans and procedures in collaboration with contractors and other stakeholders. Support mobilization and operational readiness while protecting people, assets, and the environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Oversight:

Serve as the focal point for SHES compliance issues on-site.

Ensure contractors, subcontractors, and vendors meet SHES requirements prior to site mobilization.

Safety Awareness:
-
Promote SHES awareness and performance through activities such as toolbox talks and task instructions.
-
Provide coaching and leadership to contractors and subcontractors.
-

Regulatory Compliance:
-
Oversee SHES compliance with regulatory and project requirements.
-
Review and provide feedback on contractor SHES plans and documents.
-

Resource Management:
-
Plan and coordinate SHES resource assignments and performance reviews.
-
Mentor and develop SHES personnel for both client and contractor organizations.

Interface Management:

Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and contractors.

Act as a representative for SHES matters during interface meetings and reviews.

Continuous Improvement:

Ensure ongoing improvement of SHES systems and proactively address negative trends.

Support implementation of observation and intervention programs.

Program Implementation:

Participate in pre-commissioning and start-up SHES programs.

Ensure compliance with SIMOPS and other SHES initiatives during operational phases.

Audits and Inspections:

Conduct safety reviews, inspections, and pre-start-up audits.
-
Provide input for incident investigations and root cause analysis.

Reporting and Relationships:

Reports to: SHES Division Manager

Internal Relationships:
Collaborate with project teams and departments to address SHES issues and foster effective communication and teamwork.
External Relationships:
Interface with contractors, regulatory bodies, vendors, and other third parties to maintain SHES standards and resolve issues.

Technical and Business Skills:

Qualifications:

HSE-related NVQ Level 5, NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent.

OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification.

Advanced root cause analysis training (e.g., TapRoot®).
Experience:

Minimum 10 years of HSE experience in relevant industries.

Experience with large-scale international projects and Tier-1 contractors.
-
Knowledge of project execution processes in high-value projects (> $1 billion).
