Main function of the job: -

 

 The responsibility of HSE engineer is promoting and maintaining the health and safety procedures in all company sites and during execution the company projects also ensures implementation of the HSE Management System and Plans as they apply to the industrial plant, workshops and projects complies with the relevant HSE Legislations and safety requirements in oil and gas industry.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: -

 

  • Provide technical support related to safety engineering at all company sites whenever required.
  • Visit the company plant, workshops, and projects sites on a regular basis to ensure interest and awareness of HSE as well as the works are carried out safely and according to HSE regulation.
  • Ensure implementation of all health, safety and environmental audits, surveillance audits and work with site team for resolution of non-conformance issues.
  • Visit the project site and conduct regular safety talks and safety training sessions.
  • Provide HSE requirements in EPC brown and green field projects packages as well as participate in inter discipline check of projects documents for HSE compliance.
  • Provide safety studies, review and approve fire and gas detection systems, hazards area classification drawings, safety appliance’s locations and escape routes drawings.
  • Perform incident investigation, analyse the incident root causes, develop measures to prevent similar occurrence in the future and prepare reports.
  • Develop company emergency response plan to handle crises such as fires, chemical spills or natural disasters.
  • Participate in HAZOP and SIL studies.
  • Provide advice and assistance to EPC and HSE managers to comply with HSE management system and polices of company and in a regular way to reduce the risk to the project team and the environment.
  • Develop and update company HSE documents, HSE Plans, plant and office risk assessments.
  • Ensure all workplaces are safe and monitor the general work environment for hazards and safety violations and recommend safety features in the new processes and products.
  • Review, comment and approve the HSE aspects in the contractor design, vendors documentations and the EPC contractor safety management system.
  • Ensure EPC contractor develop, implement and maintain a specific project risk management plan as per the Contract and HSE legislation.
  • Report any outstanding and critical safety issues or lack of action by site staff and Contractors in the weekly meetings.
  • Prepare routine and technical reports as well as develop and maintain record for safety statistical data.

Qualifications & Experience: -

  • Education: - B ENG in Safety and Fire Engineering or Chemical / Process,..etc.
  • Experience: - Minimum 10 years experience in safety engineering management in oil and gas industry.
  • Must be fully familiar with plant safety requirements and safety engineering standards.
  • Member of recognized industry safety bodies such as OSHA, NEBOSH,..etc.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational and technical risk analysis skills.
  • Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer skills MS office.

 

Summary of Terms & Conditions:

  • Work Cycle of 56/21 for American, Eastern and Western Europe, others 65/21
    • 9 Hours a day
