Technical Sales Representative
About Our Client:

We are representing a leading provider of specialty chemical solutions known for their innovative products and exceptional customer service. Our client caters to a wide range of industries and is seeking a driven and experienced Technical Sales Representative to join their team and help expand their business operations.
 

Position Overview:

As a Technical Sales Representative for our client, you will play a key role in acquiring new business and driving sales growth within a designated territory. You will work closely with various teams to negotiate contracts, manage customer relationships, and oversee logistics to ensure timely delivery of products. This role requires a strong balance between strategic planning and day-to-day sales activities, while adhering to company approval processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Business Development & Contract Negotiation: Acquire new business, negotiate sales contracts, and drive growth within the territory, with final contract approvals by the VP of Operations.
  • Pricing Management: Ensure all pricing is aligned with company guidelines and subject to approval by the President.
  • Team Development & Support: Build and lead a strategic support team to manage bulk chemical movement, with budget approval from the President.
  • Sales Growth & Territory Expansion: Organize and lead sales meetings and presentations to support territory growth, building long-term customer relationships and brand presence.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Oversee all customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and ongoing business opportunities.
  • Logistics Coordination: Communicate regularly with ACI Logistics to ensure timely shipments and product delivery. Ordering/release of all products is subject to logistics processes and approval from the Calgary logistics team.
  • Field Sampling & Deliveries: Handle field sampling and product deliveries as required to support customer needs.
  • Collaboration with Lab: Work closely with the lab to manage testing, development, and product customization needs.
  • Strategic Growth Model: Develop and manage a strategic growth model for territory expansion and business development.
  • Budget Management: Take ownership of the territory development and budget, ensuring alignment with the company’s objectives.
  Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in technical sales, ideally in the specialty chemical or related industries.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a solid track record of securing new business.
  • Ability to build and manage teams that support business operations.
  • Understanding of logistics processes and coordination with shipping/transportation teams.
  • Familiarity with field sampling, testing, and product development.
  • Strategic thinking with experience in budgeting and territory management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools.
