JOB DESCRIPTION

NOV is seeking a qualified and experienced Drill Bit Technical Sales Engineer to join our team in Gabon. In this role you will play a critical role in supporting the sales and business development efforts within the CEMAC region, reporting directly to the CEMAC Drill Bit Sales Manager. You will be responsible for technical sales support, customer relationship management, and collaborating with the sales team to drive revenue growth. Your primary focus will be to provide technical expertise to customers, ensuring the correct drill bit selection based on drilling conditions and customer requirements. You will support the execution of sales strategies, liaise with operational teams, and assist in ensuring product performance aligns with customer expectations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical sales support to customers, ensuring proper drill bit selection and optimization for specific drilling applications.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, rig site personnel, and engineering teams to identify business opportunities.
  • Conduct bit performance evaluations and provide detailed reports with recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist in the preparation of bids, tenders, and sales proposals in coordination with the Sales Manager.
  • Work closely with the Sales Manager and Regional Operations team to align customer needs with product offerings.
  • Collect and analyse Bit Records, Drilling Reports, Market Intelligence, including competitor activities, customer feedback, and emerging drilling technologies.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-ups and reporting using CRM systems.
  • Assist in inventory planning and forecasting, ensuring product availability aligns with demand.
  • Support and participate in customer training programs to enhance product knowledge and demonstrate value proposition.
  • Ensure all technical documentation and customer reports are completed accurately and submitted on time.
  • Travel as required to customer sites, rig locations, and company offices within the CEMAC region.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business/Engineering
  • Tertiary education in Business or Engineering related subject


Experience:

  • Experience in a similar area sales position within Oil and Gas
  • Ability to engage with customer, build customer network and generate sales opportunities


Skills, training or special knowledge

  • Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • CRM knowledge
