We are seeking to recruit on behalf of our client a BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY) who will based in KUWAIT  on a long-term residential contract.

 

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY)

 

Purpose

Direct, manage, support, and supervise the business development department and all the business development related activities of company.

Responsible for the development of new projects, project development and projects’ prequalification.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and potential customers.

 

Responsibilities

Participate in the definition and development of Business development policies, procedures and programmes and provide continuous guidance on business development matters.

Formulate and define clear business strategies and targets using in-depth knowledge of business theories and market conditions.

Prepare the budget for the Business development department.

Plan and coordinate the implementation of business plans and the penetration of new markets.

Ensure all pre-qualification documents are in place prior to bidding for a project/ RFP

Identify, develop, and generate new business opportunities to maximize company revenue.

Monitor business plan results in achievement of Canar Holding’s non-financial targets. In case of any discrepancy, lead analysis and evaluate current strategies and advise on alterations

Maintain extensive knowledge of business theories, present market conditions, trends, future forecasts, and consortium formations

Lead market and economic research through both quantitative and qualitative techniques and provide market intelligence data on local, regional, and international trends, customers etc.

Support management by providing analysis for evaluating new business opportunities such as development agreements and joint ventures. • Periodically monitor expenditure against approved budgets and reconcile budget variances to ensure on-target performance against budgets and minimize overhead costs. • Build and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues, current and potential customers, and media.

Establish vendor relations with major contractors/ subcontractors and other suppliers.

Supervise the development of all product and sales collateral, whether prints, online or other electronic form (example; for emailing brochures and product literature as electronic attachments)

Work with Legal & Contracts to ensure all customer contracts, non-disclosure agreements and other binding documents and template agreements are sufficient to appropriately protect the company both legally and from a fiduciary standpoint.

Liaise with the DMD/ MDs, division, and department managers to ensure the development of policies, procedures and existing customers’ communications are sufficient to ensure excellence in customer service such that the relationship with satisfied customers is supportive of booking repeat business and strong customer referrals.

Act as a representative for the company during presentations, business negotiations and interactions with customers and professional advisors such as lawyers and accountants.

Supervise the creation and distribution of reports to be distributed to top management so that management is constantly aware of new business opportunities, closed agreements, relevant market news and trends that can have an impact on the company.

Periodically measure performance and inform top management about the progress.

Attend industry trade and consumer events along with networking opportunities and other relevant meetings/ seminars.

Ensure employees have an individual development plan and identify employees.

Perform any other duty requested by Manager

 

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Management, Construction Science, Technical Sales Management or equivalent master’s degree or specialized certificates in related field preferred

10-12 years of related experience

At least 8 years’ experience in similar role within the GCC

Extensive knowledge of construction products

Demonstrate ability to effectively lead teams and manage mega-sized projects
