For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $65,000 - $68,000 per year, and the expected commission range is $ 0 - $60,000 in year one and increase to $0 - $120k by year 2-3, based on performance (uncapped commission).

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Schneider Electric also offers a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees, inclusive of medical (with member reward points), dental, vision, and basic life insurance, Benefit Bucks (credits to apply towards your benefits) flexible work arrangements, paid family leaves, 401(k) + match, well-being and recognition (including service anniversary) programs, 12 holidays per year, 15 days of paid time off per year (pro-rated in the first year of employment based on start date), opportunity to purchase company stock (eligibility depends on start date), and military leave benefits.

The Business Development Representative on our Public Sector team will be responsible for generating new opportunities for pursuit from prospective client identification through prospecting, engagement, meeting setting and account planning. You will interact with the highest levels of decision makers and change the organizational energy footprint for years to come.

What do you get to do in this position?
  • Be an entrepreneur and help build a business within our existing industry leading brand
  • Identify and build new executive-level relationships in K12 or Local Government organizations
  • Identify and qualify opportunities to create warm leads to share and collaborate with our Account Executives
  • Attend and facilitate industry networking and professional events
  • Attend and lead trade show exhibiting and lead generation
  • Create lead generation campaigns to prospect and build new business
  • Educate prospective clients and partners on our unique value proposition and delivery methods
  • Be one of the key faces of our brand in the identified geographic and vertical market(s)

In a typical week here's some of the things you'll do...
  • Identify customers and key stakeholders within your region
  • Target, qualify, and initiate contact with executive-level prospects to develop key customer relationships and drive new opportunities
  • Secure meetings for yourself and other members of the sales team
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to C-Suite key stakeholders
  • Lead the development of strategic and tactical plans for moving prospects to clients
  • Network inside relevant vertical market and industry organizations to educate, expand prospect opportunities, and promote Schneider Electric as the industry leader
  • Leverage teaming agreements and partnerships to improve understanding of customers, opportunities, and objectives
  • Report prospective upcoming opportunities to Regional Vice President for resource planning
  • Lead or participate in proposal content development and interview win strategy
