Wood is currently looking for a GeoScience Section Head to join our team in Basra, Iraq on a 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off rotational work
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities
- Coordinate multi-teams in developing drilling rig schedule on weekly basis to achieve wellbore objectives.
- Ensure effective execution and assessment of field development plans including monitoring and reporting of drilling activities, open hole petrophysical analyses
- Coordinate all Geoscience and RC teams work for new wells location analysis and proposal to reach yearly and short term and long-term development geology target.
- Review pre-drill documents including detailed well drill prognosis charts and formation evaluation program and post drill analysis
- Review new well completion proposal and following operation
- Support well work operation in completion style and related activities
- Review geoscience and petrophysics work planning, technical oversight/assurance, quality measurement and approvals in cased hole formation evaluation
- Provide effective communication to the management and partners on related geoscience technical issues in CTC
- Develop annual work plans and associated Work Program and Budget (WP&B) for the geoscience side
- Develop technical training plans for the Iraq geoscience
- Ensure geological data and reports are compiled in a timely manner, properly distributed, and placed in appropriate digital repositories.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge / Ability / Skills:
- Minimum of master's degree in Geoscience
- 15-year experience with onshore field development; geologic operations, petrophysics, and basic reservoir characterization
- 10-year global oilfield operation experience with muti-partners
- Comprehensive geological research
- Leadership, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Well-developed communication skills for influencing stakeholders
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- A working knowledge of carbonate depositional systems is desirable
