Summary of Position:

Operations Geologist IV supports the operations team in developing Civita's assets. This role oversees geological activities during horizontal drilling, performs log correlations (open-hole, gamma, and mud logs), and creates maps to describe the stratigraphic and structural characteristics of formations within and surrounding the company's assets. The position involves updating maps to reflect changes in geological interpretations, guiding active drilling operations, and contributing to the evaluation of future drilling opportunities.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Well Planning and Execution: Serve as an independent professional providing expertise in well planning and execution for complex geological projects.

• Data Integration: Analyze and integrate geological and geophysical data to design and implement accurate well plans, ensuring targeting objectives are met. Provide recommendations for adjustments as necessary.

• Geologic Oversight: Manage geologic drilling activities for all horizontal rigs on CIVI properties, including on-site supervision as needed (24/7) to ensure proper placement of casing points and target zone identification throughout the wellbore.

• Database Management: Maintain a comprehensive geologic database for all horizontal drilling locations, incorporating geological, engineering, and geophysical criteria for post-drill analysis and production comparisons (daily outputs and EURs).

• Compliance and Safety: Follow safe operating practices and ensure compliance with CIVI's environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.

• Mentorship: Assist in mentoring and training junior-level staff.

• Standards Adherence: Ensure all work aligns with CIVI's established standards.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

• Analytical Expertise: Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills for interpreting complex geological data.
• Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaboration: Proven ability to work within multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.
• Adaptability: Flexible and capable of managing multiple tasks in dynamic project environments.

Education & Experience:

• Required Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in operations geology required.
• Technical Proficiency Required:
  • Experience with geological software such as Geographix/GVERSE and StarSteer.
  • Familiarity with well-logging tools and geosteering technologies.
  • Advance d proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Travel & Additional Requirements:

• Work Location: Work is performed at both field and office locations.
• Schedule: Traditional 40-hour workweek or an alternative schedule of 9-hour workdays Monday through Thursday and 4-hour workdays on Friday, as business needs allow and with manager approval.
• Travel required to the Civitas field locations.
