Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Hydrologist III to join our team. The successful candidate will work as part of a team to assist with the development and maintenance of water management techniques and strategy. The role involves advanced practices, defining new solutions, and/or working on large/complex projects. Work assignments are more complex in nature, where considerable creativity, technical judgment, tact, and initiative are required in problem solving.

Responsibilities:
  • Measure and monitor water quantity and quality for near-mine and in-mine programs.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train subordinate hydrologists.
  • Provide technical input for expansion studies to mitigate water-related risks.
  • Support and develop strategic surface and groundwater management plans.
  • Ensure compliance with hydrological standards and guidelines.
  • Manage consultants for surface and groundwater investigations.
  • Collaborate with mining personnel on water-related issues.
  • Interpret and report hydrologic data.
  • Oversee hydrogeological assessments, groundwater characterization, and dewatering well construction.
  • Maintain and update water quality mass balances, groundwater monitoring, and dewatering plans.
  • Track well database and ensure compliance with monitoring plans.
  • Consult on water permits and seeps/springs studies.
  • Manage dewatering data systems and monthly water reporting.
  • Assist with engineering and construction projects for site water management.
  • Develop future dewatering strategies and pilot programs.
  • Ensure alignment with water rights and corporate responsibility policies.
  • Conduct hydrologic investigations and prepare reports.
  • Support water management strategies and data handling.
  • Maintain site water balance and regulatory compliance.
  • Adhere to HS&E policies, promote safe work practices, and ensure compliance.
  • Provide leadership, set expectations, evaluate performance, and encourage innovation.
  • Engage in professional development and stay updated on industry best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in hydrology, hydrogeology, geology, engineering, or related field required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of verifiable experience in hydrology, hydrogeology, engineering, and/or dewatering required
  • Practical experience in surface or groundwater management, design of mitigation structures and the development of surface water management plans required
  • Management skills for high budget projects (>$1M) preferred
