ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Sample & standard preparations, chemical extraction, GC and/or HPLC. Other Duties in other analytical areas may be assigned. Preparation of plastic samples (pellets, films, parts, etc.) for microscopy analysis (optical, SEM, etc) and other rheology, thermal, and spectroscopy analytical tests. Independently practices applying principles in discipline of competency. Demonstrates a continuing consciousness of safety in daily activities, and implemented in work designed. Works under general supervision. Supports field assignments as required. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate degree or higher, or equivalent job experience. Minimum of 1-4 years experience in the industry or in a related field or approval by the Program Director.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Must be cognizant of the capabilities and limitations of various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment to effectively direct their use for diverse engineering assignments.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. PHYSICAL
