POSITION CONCEPT:
The Superintendent - Generation - BBS is responsible in a line capacity to the Manager - Maintenance & Technical Support. The Superintendent - Generation is responsible for the supervision of all assigned personnel, and coordinating (planning and scheduling) all maintenance activities on a day to day basis, as well as planning all equipment and unit outage work.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Within the limits of authorized objectives, policies, procedures, plans, schedules and budgets, this position has the responsibility and commensurate authority to:
EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Bachelor degree from an accredited university.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Minimum of 15 years of work experience related to the Duties & Responsibilities of this position is required. Related experience consists of: power plant operations and/or maintenance.
SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE:
Required: 5 years of supervising covered and/or non-exempt employees
Preferred: 10 years of supervising covered and/or non-exempt employees
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Required: Must have a working knowledge of work management systems, work force scheduling and planning.
Preferred: Knowledge of working with power turbine outage maintenance schedules and planning.
WORK CONDITIONS:
Work hours may exceed 40 hour per week where work is executed indoors, outdoors and around hot and audible equipment. Work may be required on the weekend and require employee to remain on call.
COMPETENCIES:
The successful applicant will be required to take and pass a Baseline Medical Examination as part of the pre-employment screening once an offer has been accepted. A pre-employment drug screening, as well as a background check (including education, employment, criminal and motor vehicle) will also be conducted as part of the pre-employment screening.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Within the limits of authorized objectives, policies, procedures, plans, schedules and budgets, this position has the responsibility and commensurate authority to:
- Supervise, coach and provide daily directions to assigned personnel. Conduct regular performance reviews with team members. Utilize company tools and resources to develop team member performance and skills.
- Ensure safe work practices and environmental policies, procedures, and permit limitations are followed. Ensure annual refresher training, record keeping, and daily job safety discussions are performed. Follow-up action on first aids, team member injuries and safety suggestions.
- Coach and foster an environment of open communication with team members. Build an effective line of communication with operations, engineering, technical specialists, station management and other supporting departments on operating status, equipment issues, load restrictions, reliability issues and return to service targets.
- Track workflow of work orders from creation to execution. Responsible for POW (plan of the week schedule), plan and schedule maintenance work to ensure that work is prioritized and coordinated, in a cost-effective manner. Manage Plant backlog effectively, assign all contractor-related work orders and activities working closely with engineers, plant supervision and contractors.
- Ensure all work requirement needs are met including HEC procedures, confined space and burn permit requirements, job aids, maintenance procedures, and PM attachments, to maximize productivity and minimize impact on plant personnel and equipment.
- Ensure all outage work packages for equipment and units in outage are planned and schedules developed. Work closely with the plant Technical Support staff and plant operations personnel to prioritize required work. Work within the parameters of station budgetary allotments, accomplishing required work, utilizing cost control methods.
- Assign outage work to the planning team, lead and coordinate all plant outages, arrange outage meetings and work with team members tracking status of all outage work.
- Maintain all team member schedules (daily and weekly work, vacation, required safety and skill based training schedules, etc.)
- Participate with the plant Technical Support group in making recommendations to station management on equipment modifications/maintenance, budget input, staffing and staffing requirements.
- Provide leadership in implementing company and station goals with team members. Perform any other duties or special assignments as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
