Are you ready to join our team as an Instrument and Electrical Technician II? As a Contract Full-Time employee, you will have the opportunity to showcase your skills in electrical calculations, system design, and troubleshooting while working in Alvin, Texas for a leading company in the oil and gas industry.
Role Overview
- Install and maintain electrical and instrument equipment in compliance with all rules and practices.
- Test and repair electrical and instrumentation systems utilized by production equipment to ensure adherence to established performance levels and product quality.
- Evaluate electrical systems and instruments to establish plans for repair.
- Document and verify problems and actions taken.
- Plan, update, and oversee all activities within areas of responsibility according to laws, regulations, standards, specifications, and procedures.
- Support and encourage team effort between operations, engineering, and projects groups.
- Provide input and review control specifications and work practices.
- Be responsible and accountable for electrical and control systems as defined in the Work Management Manual.
- Apply and follow work permits through Permit To Work System (PTWS) as discussed in the Work Management Manual.
- Ensure quality and timely completion of work scheduled by the Maintenance Program.
- Develop personal and team technical skills, including staying up-to-date on new regulations, equipment, methods, and technology.
- Attend and instruct technical meetings to keep instrument and electrical technicians informed of the latest specifications, codes, procedures, and technology.
- Maintain open communication on electrical and control issues with co-workers.
- Support work prioritization to maximize effectiveness and complement the efforts of other work groups.
- Provide technical support to other Technicians for maintenance and troubleshooting on company's instrument and electrical systems.
- Generate Management of Change requests (MOCs) on electrical and control-related equipment and installation and follow up with installation inspections consistent with Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS) Element 3.
- Construct, monitor, and inspect new installations for consistency with the mission and recommend upgrades as necessary.
- Act as a stand-in for the Instrument and Electrical Lead position as needed.
Skills & Qualifications
- Associates degree preferably enhanced by related technical school courses.
- Experience in maintaining electrical systems and Instruments and Controls in processing plant or offshore production plant.
- Familiarity with regulations applicable to the operations of oil and gas facilities.
- OIMS systems, related manuals, and procedures.
- Safety, administrative, and technical training requirements associated with this position as documented in the company operations-approved training roadmap.
- General competencies and Operations Integrity Critical competency requirements as documented and maintained in company Operations Training roadmap.
- Computing skills.
- Safety oriented with good communication skills.
- Good organizational and reporting skills with attention to detail.
- Good troubleshooting and analyzing skills.
Education & Experience
- Associates degree preferably enhanced by related technical school courses.
- Experience in maintaining electrical systems and Instruments and Controls in processing plant or offshore production plant.
