Engineering Manager
Your role and responsibilities
Do you have experience overseeing the electrical engineering aspects of complex projects from design to commissioning? Are you motivated by pushing the boundaries of what's possible? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you. You will have the chance to leave your mark on solutions that address global climate and energy challenges. Your primary focus will be building state-of-the-art electrolyzer factories in collaboration with our two highly skilled and dedicated partner companies. These facilities will manufacture advanced, energy efficient Solid Oxide Electrolyzer Cells (SOECs) that are essential in the production of green hydrogen and its derivatives like green ammonia. You may also have the opportunity to contribute to projects in the pharma industry. In this role, you will have overall responsibility for the electrical solutions in projects, overseeing work from initial design concepts to detailed design, supervision, quality assurance of electrical installations and final commissioning. You will lead a technical team of engineers, working closely with colleagues in Denmark as well as our partners and competence centers abroad. As you will interact with numerous project stakeholders, strong collaboration skills are key to success in this role - whether you're working with colleagues, partners, or customers. As a pioneer, you must be comfortable navigating challenges without always having immediate answers. This requires an open mindset and a drive to continuously seek new perspectives and improvements. You will work on projects in both Denmark and the US, with an expected travel commitment of 30-50 days per year. Additionally, you should be prepared to spend time at different office locations during a typical workweek. The team is currently based in Esbjerg, Middelfart, and Aalborg, but your workplace can be any ABB location, including Ballerup. Work location arrangements will naturally be planned together with you. Your responsibilities: • Manage all electrical aspects of large-scale projects, ensuring professional solutions, efficient resource use, and effective planning. • Deliver high-impact electrical engineering designs for large-scale buildings, industrial, and pharmaceutical projects in Denmark and abroad. • Design complex electrical systems, from main infrastructure to low-voltage components. • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop top-tier solutions. • Mentor team members, fostering collaboration and technical skill development. • Ensure compliance with Danish, American, and other relevant energy and building standards. • Engage in cross-border collaboration with Operations Competence Centers in India and the Czech Republic.
