Responsibilities:
- Design electrical circuits, assemblies, and installations to meet project requirements.
- Responsible for leading electrical innovation and standardization for the Product Development team.
- Select electrical components to meet project and product requirements such as:
- Electrical drive systems
- AC and DC power systems
- Electric controls, electronic controls and PLC hardware
- Electronic input and output devices (aka field devices)
- Lighting, Audio, and HVAC
- Create and maintain electrical schematics.
- Collaborate with Project Engineers and Designers creating and maintaining electrical installations and wiring diagrams.
- Prepare design calculations and packages as required for third party certification standards.
- Work with Project Management to drive manufacturing, track project costs, and maintain project schedules.
- Work with Procurement to establish vendors for components and processes outside of current areas of expertise.
- Work with Manufacturing personnel, third party vendors and Quality Assurance to ensure components meet designs/drawings.
- Work with Manufacturing, Service and Quality Assurance for configuration of electronic systems as required.
- Act as liaison between other departments when necessary to ensure the success of projects.
- Assist and document verification of new products for proper testing to meet or exceed product specifications, design goals and Hydra Rig product standards.
- Document and train product specific electrical methodology and general Hydra Rig design practices.
- Provide elevated electrical support for legacy designs, previous projects and warranty support.
- Consult with Technical Support, Field Service, Repair to solve customer issues and provide technical and troubleshooting advice.
- Develop and maintain intellectual property including trade secrets and patents, as applicable.
- Refer all problems beyond scope of responsibilities to direct supervisor.
- Assist the Technical Publications personnel with technical content of operations manual creation.
- Responsible to follow all applicable company and corporate policies, procedures and programs, including but not limited to, the process map, support processes, safety and environmental requirements.
- Work on-site at the Hydra Rig facility in Fort Worth with limited opportunities to work from home.
- Other work related duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Must be a high school graduate.
- 5+ years electrical design and/or troubleshooting mobile electrical, or electrical systems is required.
- Associates or Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering is preferred.
- Experience with hydraulic design or troubleshooting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience using SolidWorks and AutoCAD or BricsCAD is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills are required.
